Research on Intellectual Risk Taking Expands to New Disciplines and Campuses

Our research on intellectual risk-taking is entering a new phase!

The Good Project has received continued support from the Henry Luce Foundation through its Women in STEM Program for a new one-year phase of research on intellectual risk-taking in undergraduate education. The project builds on a successful pilot focused on computer science classrooms and will now expand to additional colleges and universities and to students in other academic disciplines.

The research team will continue exploring what helps students feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas that are still taking shape, and working through uncertainty with others. The new phase will also continue refining and validating the survey used to study intellectual risk-taking while examining the classroom practices and institutional conditions that support it.

This research is funded through The Good Project and is part of the work that has helped shape the C³ Lab's emerging research agenda. As the research expands into new disciplines and questions, we're excited to share its continued development here.
